You're BACON Me Crazy

I saw a recipe for Sea Salt and Maple Bacon Chocolate Hearts on a blog here, and I wanted to try making it immediately! Valentines Day gave me the perfect excuse :)

It's actually an extremely easy recipe - and what man wouldn't love receiving chocolates with bacon in them?!? Those are the two best food groups!

Ingredients:
- Maple Bacon
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Sea Salt
- Silicone heart-shaped mold (or any shape really)

Steps:

1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F, and place bacon on a baking sheet covered in tin foil. I used 8 slices (about half a pack). Place the bacon in the oven and cook for 15-20 minutes. Flip bacon over after 10 minutes and watch closely. You want them crispy, but not burnt.

2. Take bacon off and pat them dry with paper towel to get rid of the grease. Then crush bacon into lots of tiny pieces (smaller than your mold). They should crumble easily.

3. Melt entire package of chocolate on low heat until smooth.

4. Add in crispy bacon pieces and mix together.

5. Pour into heart-shaped molds (mine were ice cube trays!). Make sure each mold gets some bacon :)

6. Sprinkle sea salt on top once they are in the molds.  Freeze for a few hours to let them set. I left them overnight.

Serve and enjoy!

Here's the gift bag I made to give my husband with his bacon chocolates :)
