Baby's First Road Trip

We did it.
We braved the impossible and took our baby on her first road trip.
At just shy of her three months milestone, we began the 5 hour (usually) journey to Edmonton.
If I didn't already think my baby was the best baby in the whole world, I would now!
She was amazing.
It helped that we left for the drive at 8pm, which is her usual bed time.
She just slept the whole way there, I fed her when we arrived, and she got right back into her usual sleeping routine for the rest of the weekend :)
Best. Baby. Ever.
We decided to head to the big city at the last minute because the husband got an extra day off work, we had some gift cards to use up, and a weekend away sounded refreshing.
Here are some pics from our whirlwind weekend trip:

Playing at Aunty's house. Look at Ellie opening up her hands!

Playing with our Easter gift from Aunty. First Cabbage Patch Doll! First doll ever actually…
… she was so mesmerized by the doll's face :)

We went out for the day to do some shopping (Sorry... no pictures to show for it!), and we caught the final days of the Harry Potter Exhibition at the World of Science. It was awesome!

Then… a miracle happened! We were given the evening off! Date night here we come :)
(Baby girl slept the whole time we were gone without a peep!)

Snuggles with Aunty and Uncle :)

My need to get out of the house on a regular basis is helping me master the art of breastfeeding in public. Even Starbucks doesn't intimidate me now!

This is what the puppies looked like all weekend. They came with us, but they waited sadly at the front door every time we left them.

On the way home we had to stop a couple of times to let the baby girl eat and stretch, but she was still awesome. Our 5 hour trip became a 6.5 hour trip after food and baby stops. Not too shabby.

I've been posting on here so often lately that this 5 day break felt like a long hiatus.
More to come now that I'm back from our Edmonton adventure though :)

{xoxo}

Fun! Glad it went well and that you got a date night!! Our first road trip was at about the same age, few weeks older maybe.. went to visit my grandparents with my sister and niece.. 2 hour ferry and 4 hour drive.. Casey HATED being in the car = no fun :p definitely prefer flying with him :)

Really?! Ellie was great driving. I'm so curious to see how Ellie does flying… I don't think its going to go that well because she only likes sleeping in her carseat or her crib :(

He's just starting to like the car now.. always cried wherever we went. Casey is very particular about where he sleeps too (quiet dark room in his crib) but its surprising how well he's done on all of our flights. The noise is very comforting to them so hope that soothes her to sleep!

I haven't checked your blog lately so I did a bit of a catch up. Looks like you are doing very well as a mama Lindi.! Ellie is changing quickly. It is fun to see how you are doing and is amazing how you can blog and remember each month. I wish I could have done that when my kids were small. The computer didn't even exist!! Nice to enjoy the warmer weather and change of seasons.
